The mission of the James B Dudley Academy is to provide high quality affordable education. We aim to improve every student's competency in reading, and proficiency in math. We enrich student's experiences through art, music, martial arts, technology and foreign language. We provide safe and reliable spaces for learning. We have a common goal of developing resilient academic opportunities.
James Benson Dudley was an, entrepreneur, and educator from Wilmington, NC.
His legacy expands from Wilmington throughout the state of North Carolina. James B. Dudley was instrumental in founding North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. He went on to become its second president. Dudley is the name sake of the renowned Dudley High School in Greensboro, N.C. Both NCA&T and DHS have a global range of alumni and supporters who share great pride in the Dudley Legacy. It is our goal to incorporate this legacy as an initial source of pride, identity, and support.
You can visit The Dudley Academy of Wilmington at 3420 Wrightsville Ave. This is centrally located in Midtown Wilmington. We are 1 block away from the intersection of Wrightsville and Independence Avenue. From our backyard you can enter into Empie Park and access Tennis, Basketball, Playgrounds, and the cross city trail. Like Empie Park, we hope to service the needs of all the citizens of Wilmington and help build community from an easily accessible location.
